Music Production 1

This key concept video from our Music Production 1 curriculum teaches producers to break down sounds into high, low, and mid categories.

YPG’s Music Production 1 Curriculum is the only course officially endorsed by Soundtrap for Education.

It’s also the only Soundtrap curriculum that is F-Credit and CTE-approved. And it’s the only Soundtrap curriculum designed to be taken as a year-long, two-semester course.

Designed by producers steeped in modern styles like hip hop, EDM, and pop, Music Production 1 leverages Soundtrap to get all students making music with modern methods in genres that are culturally-relevant and industry-aligned. As a CTE Introductory Course, this curriculum gets students started on a pathway towards becoming a music and audio professional.

✅ Soundtrap Vetted and Approved ✅

In recognition of our long history doing great work in K-12 schools along with our teacher certification partnership, Soundtrap named Young Producers Group as their Official Curriculum Partner.

📈 10,000 Students, 400 Teachers, and Counting 📈

Music Production 1 first landed in schools during COVID and has become an indispensable resource for hundreds of schools since then, with all but a few schools renewing each year.

🚫 No LMS Needed, No Student Data Collected 🚫

This curriculum is delivered as Google Slides. All assessments, templates, and other tools are delivered with force copy links that copy the materials from the Young Producers Group G-Suite to the schools’. Variations are available for Canvas, Microsoft, and other platforms.

🍎 For Teachers, By Teachers 🍎

The Music Production 1 Curriculum is the actual curriculum that Young Producers Group teachers use in their classrooms throughout LAUSD. We’ve road tested these materials with our students and we know what works (because our students love to tell us when something isn’t working!).
