  • Dennon Jones, Escalante Middle School, Colorado:

“Young Producers Group is blazing new trails in the field of music education that will provide an incredible experience to students and teachers alike. I started teaching music production at my school, in response to Covid restrictions. After professional development with Lawrence Grey, the founder of YPG, my classes were taken to the next level. He answers every question I have about music production and education, and helps me design appropriate lessons that cater to my students’ needs. YPG gave me the confidence and tools I need to start a thriving music production program at my public middle school. Thanks Lawrence and YPG!"

  • Nam Duong, Fresno Unified, California:

“When I first started teaching music production, I did not know what kind of activities and assignments would help my students become proficient musicians. With Young Producers Group’s curriculum and professional development programs, I was given the tools and the step-by-step guide. My students are now capable of creating awesome music that they love. The curriculum is simple and understandable, and when I had questions, Lawrence Grey and his team assisted me greatly. I would recommend YPG to anyone who is looking to teach music production or how to make music in general.”

  • Daniel Guzman, LAUSD, California

Working with YPG has been an absolute game-changer for my students. Their curriculum is engaging and accessible, and brings music education into the modern age, empowering young producers to develop real-world skills. All the while, making the music they want to make!

The YPG family has been instrumental in providing my students the all-around music education experience. In my humble opinion, their curriculum is second to none in terms of teaching students core skills in music production, audio engineering, and music industry. The Beat Battle has been an incredible way to build community and inspire students to take their music to the next level. For my student, Lily Sturges, placing 1st place in the Beat Battle Instrumentalist category has proven to be an invaluable experience, leaving her inspired and ready for the music industry at large.

  • Jenna Eggering, Technology High School

“If you're intimidated about starting a music production course, YPG is what you need! It spells everything out for you! Lessons, videos and demonstrations for each topic, assignments, assessments, rubrics, and pacing guides....literally everything a teacher could need to teach, they have thought of it for you.

During the first year of introducing this curriculum I have had nothing but positive feedback from the students. We are all learning together, creating together, and laughing together at times. We have even created our own activity....The Beat Bracket. I play the assignments blindly (numbers 1, 2, 3, etc, instead of names, random order each time), students vote for their top favorites, and we narrow it down each round until we have a winner! Buy this curriculum. You won't regret it.”

  • Molly Peters, West Ranch High School

“I am in year 23 as a music teacher in public schools, and I have spent the past five years teaching music technology and production to students grades 7-12. What I love about teaching these classes is that I get to meet different students on campus - students that aren't necessarily interested in performing or being in an ensemble, but instead students that are interested in creating and producing original music. The use of a DAW like Soundtrap or Ableton gives students access to everything they need to become a composer. And since those programs can be overwhelming for both teachers and students, the Young Producers Group curriculum is a perfect way to introduce both teachers and students to music technology. The videos and lessons are sequential and the projects are standards-based. Students start with small successes and then as their skills develop, they are writing and producing full length original music and podcasts.

As music teachers, we need to stay relevant and continue to cast a wide net to draw all students into our music classrooms, and YPG will set you up for success. Believe me when I say if I can do it, you can do it too!”

  • Kaitlin Pi, Saugus High School

Young Producers Group has completely changed the way I teach Music “Production for the better. What seemed like a daunting task was made so easy and accessible for me and my students. Their videos and projects are so helpful and tailored to the needs of young artists. Their PD is incredible with flexible scheduling, workshops and observations offered, and one-on-one time you can schedule at your leisure. Representatives also come out to give feedback to students and get them involved in the YPG community which includes beat battles and more opportunities. I can't imagine trying to teach Music Production without YPG, it has been such a blessing and saved me so much time. Their curriculum is not just assignments , but a curated culture. I cannot recommend them enough!”

  • Stephanie Monroe, Pajaro Valley Unified School District

“As a district arts administrator, I am thrilled to share my experience working with Young Producers Group. Their digital music production curriculum is exceptional, offering an excellent balance of theory and practical skills that is easy to follow for both experienced and inexperienced music teachers. The YPG team goes above and beyond to ensure that teachers are supported, even across larger districts like PVUSD.

What stands out most is their responsiveness and dedication to the individual needs of educators. They provide a personal touch through classroom visits and professional development sessions, creating an environment where teachers feel truly supported. Their quick response time and creative ideas make it easy to collaborate with them and implement innovative music programs.

Most importantly, YPG inspires students and believe in their potential as artists. Their approach not only teaches the technical aspects of digital music production but also fosters a deeper appreciation for creativity and self-expression while promoting career readiness. Through their guidance, students are empowered to reach their full potential, and it's evident that Young Producers Group truly brings out the best in every student they work with.”

  • Benjamin Gertner, Roosevelt High School

“Our partnership with Young Producers Group is transformative for students, engaging and equipping them with skills for the future. Digital production, sound engineering, and creative entrepreneurship taps into student interest, helps drive enrollment, and prepares young people for careers in an evolving industry.”

  • Tyler Johnson, Madison High School

“Working with YPG has been an incredible experience for both me and my students. YPG's curriculum is relevant, easy to use, and engages students in the music-making process. Lawrence and the YPG team have been extremely supportive throughout my time working with them. They have always been available by email or willing to hop on a call to answer questions and offer advice. They genuinely listen to feedback, continuously refining and expanding the curriculum each year to make it even better.

This year, some of my students participated in their Beat Battle. They had an amazing time connecting with other students, visiting booths, and hearing music from peers across Southern California. The event was inspiring and has motivated them to keep improving their projects. They’re already excited to start working on their songs for next year!

I started teaching this class with limited experience in DAW-based composition and I was initially unsure of how to approach teaching it. YPG has made this entire process easy and fun, not just for me, but for my students as well. Their curriculum has been a game-changer in my classroom, and I couldn’t recommend it more.”

  • Rick Hammarstrom, Sierra High School

“I am an older guy (old enough to have grown up without personal computers!) who started teaching Audio and Music Production recently. The YPG curriculum has helped me have a solid curriculum for the music production part of my classes. Lawrence does a good job in the videos explaining the concepts. I usually pause from time to time and give some input to be sure that the concepts are understood by my students, as it is sometimes a lot to take in. As someone who has taught basic music theory for many years, and love teaching it to help young people prepare for further musical study, I find it interesting that the YPG curriculum gets the students introduced to music theory, but kind of backwards from the way that I have always taught it. YPG has the students start by creating music right away using pre-recorded loops and samples, then has them start to make their own music with non-pitched percussion, and eventually starts having them ease into creating their own melodies and harmonies.
In the almost two years that I have been utilizing YPG (last year as part of my piano classes), I have found it to be a great tool. The YPG staff respond to emails quickly, sometimes the same day, to answer questions and even to take suggestions. I am a fan!”

  • Heather Sirney, Warren Harding High School

“As a high school music teacher pitching a new class to admin, it's likely you'll also be the one creating the course content from scratch. For my Music Production Class, YPG makes life so much easier because of their ready-made curriculum including a detailed pacing guide, rubrics that are easy to understand, and assignments my students enjoy. (If that's too much, you can dilute it down to "Using YPG has made my life so much easier" because it's absolutely so true.)”

  • Steven Sanders, Encore Arts & Media College Prep

“As a traditionally trained musician and band director tasked with teaching music production, I initially set out to create my own curriculum—a daunting challenge given the depth of the subject. Discovering Young Producers Group was a game-changer; their comprehensive curriculum provides everything a music educator needs, from engaging videos and assignment examples to detailed rubrics and assessments. It’s truly a one-stop shop that empowers both teachers and students to approach music production with creativity, rigor, and confidence I cannot imagine teaching my classes without it.”

  • Jack Aron, Culver City High School

The YPG family has been instrumental in providing my students the all-around music education experience. • Ben Baldwin, Holly High School

"As an instrumental music teacher with 25 years of band experience and absolutely no background in music production, I found the YPG curriculum to be the perfect fit to start a new music course at my school. The curriculum is very user friendly, logically chronological, and contains everything you will need for class instruction, project assignments, and assessments. After four years of teaching the Music Production 1 curriculum, this is now one of my favorite classes and one of the most popular courses at our high school."
